Event “DevOps Breakfast”

What could be better than combining the most important meal of the day and the endless knowledge of our DevOps experts? We are almost sure that nothing beats that. Come along and discover how Jenkins X was implemented in the Pharma industry, an overview of Pgpool-II features (only in the Swiss German part) or how to rapidly provision and clone using Btrfs subvolumes in an automated way (only in the Romandie).

NYON

DevOps for Ops at dbi services (in French)

Presented by:

Are legacy applications ready for Cloud Native as in Production? Are they truly suitable? Does the use of JenkinsX EcoSystem really help? During this talk we will share a return of experience for implementing Jenkins X as a CI/CD platform in the pharma industry.

One click ``Instant Postgres cloning`` with Suse Btrfs

Presented by:

With today’s Dev/Ops approach, databases need to be provisioned and cloned instantly.

It might be that developers need to automatically spin up instances for development purposes against a defined release or that instances need to be quickly available for test and validation procedures.

Combining PostreSQL with the Btrfs filesystem on SUSE Linux Enterprise systrems this requirement becomes a no brainer.

This session will guide you through rapid provisioning and cloning using Btrfs subvolumes in an automated way.

Wrap that into Ansible playbooks and database instances can be provisioned and cloned by everyone.

Pgpool-II features demonstrated in a containerized PostgreSQL Cluster (in German)

Presented by:

Pgpool-II is a proxy software that sits between PostgreSQL servers and a PostgreSQL database client with a bunch of features. It can be used for Load Balancing, Connection Pooling, Queueing, Query Caching and Automated Failover.

The presentation gives an overview and live demo about Pgpool-II features. You will understand how it works following the live test scenarios which will be demonstrated using a fully Open Source scalable PostgreSQL Cluster with Pgpool setup with Docker Compose.
