SQL Server 2014: the next version

At TechEd North America 2013, Microsoft introduced a lot of new versions: Windows Server 2012 R2, System Center 2012 R2, Windows 8.1, Visual Studio 2013 and, and, and… SQL Server 2014, of course!Surprised

You think I’m crazy or it’s a joke!Innocent No, No, it’s for real.

You can see the first page about SQL Server 2014 on Microsoft site here:

You can register to be part of the first testers having an evaluation version.

An article from Quentin Clark (Corporate Vice President - Data Platform Group) explains the newest development here. These are the main points:

  • In-memory in the box enables "breakthrough" performance
  • Delivering mission critical capabilities through new hybrid scenarios
  • Unlocking real-time insights

I am looking forward to see this new version and to test it rapidly…

I do not have more information but I wanted to share this with you now!Cool
