On the 20th – 21st November 2023, I was honored to attend my first M-Files DACH Partner days hosted in Düsseldorf, Germany. The event took place in conference hotel van Valk located next to the Düsseldorf Airport.

On the first day, I arrived in Düsseldorf as expected without any delay.

The first day started in the afternoon with a dedicated session for the Switzerland Partners of the German area. After a warm welcome from the M-Files Team Christian Habenstein, Emilie Feat, Joachim Bleicher, Teemu Keskinen and Sebastian Wegener we started with a Business Update of Switzerland. M-Files shared the current status and gave an outlook of the future to us.

This afternoon session also intended to have an exchange between the Partners and to discuss their questions and issues. It was a very friendly and open exchange, especially because we all were physically in one room together and not in an online meeting.

I also was given a slot to present dbi services to M-Files and to the other Swiss Partners to show them who we are, where our offices are located and which services we are providing to our customers.

Two other Partners introduced their companies as well, presenting their ongoing projects and the topics they are currently working on.

After a very nice dinner, a good sleep and an opulent breakfast, we started into the second day all together and full of energy. Partners from Germany and Austria joined us for the DACH Partner day and we moved into a bigger room.

The start was made with Business Updates, this time on a Global, Europe and DACH level. M-Files shared the Key Business Figures of 2023 up to now, followed by 2023 Business Remarks and some words about the company values and which kind of customer best fit into a M-Files environment. They shared the approach of “Knowledge Work Automation”, the positioning in DACH and which values a Partner can bring into a co-selling approach.
We got an overview of new Partners and customers, including their performance in the different regions as well as globally.

After a coffee break, we moved into the presentation of M-Files Ment presented by Joachim Bleicher. At first, he was talking about the target market for M-Files Ment which are legal departments and lawyer’s offices with having a certain company size and/or amount of transactions with internal and external partners.

Key benefits of M-Files Ment are: easy to learn, simple interface, less technical hassle, self service mentality and the scalability. With M-Files Ment you can easily create document templates which can be filled based on a questionnaire catalog. It’s possible to add or remove complete paragraphs and / or filling the documents with meta data.

As a next topic we spoke about the “Industry Solution Approach”. The idea is to create pre-defined Vault templates for specific industries.

New Partner courses were presented related to the on-boarding of new partners and for SaaS. From my point of view these programs help a lot to increase the partner knowledge and to keep them informed about the upcoming updates and new features.

We were also informed about the upcoming Global user Conference 2024 called IMPACT which will take place in Melia Castilla, Madrid, Spain from May 14th to 17th 2024. This is a combined conference for partners and for customers to get the latest information from M-Files and to do networking.

In the technical session we saw the M-Files Hubshare in action, whereby Joachim did an interesting live demo how Hubshare works.
M-Files Hubshare is a portal in which you can share documents and work collaboratively. You can use it for internal and external collaboration with your employees and customers.

To wrap-up the day we had a questions and answer session and received a small gift organised from Sebastian, a small bottle of Gin made in Berlin.

While some of us spent an additional evening and night in the hotel, others (including myself) rushed to the airport or railway station to catch their train or flight.

After some trouble with my train as the connection train was canceled, I managed to get save home before midnight.

Many thanks to dbi services for the opportunity to attend this event and also to M-Files for the great and well organised days.
