Oracle Multitenant – Administer a Container Database (CDB)

Oracle has confirmed that only the multitenant architecture (CDB) will be supported in version 20c of the database software. In other words, non-container DBs (an architecture deprecated since 12cR2) cannot be created anymore. At the same time and as of version 19c, Oracle offers the possibility to use three “pluggable” databases per instance without any additional costs (that is, without having to purchase a license for the Multitenant Option). It is therefore high time for DBAs to get involved and trained on the multitenant architecture. The workshop offers hands-on exercises, and provides DBAs with the essential steps for migrating to multitenant 12c, 19c or 20c, adapting administrative tasks and scripts, and taking full advantage of the Pluggable Database new features.

Requirements

Oracle database administration knowledge of the non-container architecture. If you do not have Oracle administration knowledge, our dbi InSite Workshop Oracle DBA Essentials and our dbi InSite Workshop Oracle DBA Basic are a recommended prerequisite.
