Growth exceeding expectations

dbi services and its branches in Basel, Bern, Nyon and Zurich continue to experience double-digit growth. While the figure for 2019 (+15%) is slightly lower than that of the previous year (+17%), this is still a result that exceeds the initial forecasts made by the Delémont head office. This increase can be attributed to several factors, but the most striking is the 54% increase in turnover generated by training courses (dbi InSite workshops). This success is due in particular to efforts to promote this service under the supervision of a manager since the end of 2018. As for consulting (+19%) and Services Level Agreements (+12%), they remain two pillars in terms of revenue.

The breakdown by technology follows the trend of recent years. Oracle remains at the top of the podium but the Open Source fields as well as those of ECM and Middleware reinforce their contribution to the overall result.

New technologies and new products: an expanding offer, even remotely

Customer loyalty is a key component of the company’s success. dbi services therefore works closely with both its historical and more recent partners to extend its level of expertise in other solutions and to expand its offering. Its customers were able to benefit from new services including Cloud and DevOps. This expansion of the range of services has had a positive impact on the sale of consulting services (see above), but also on the workforce (+ 11 new employees in 2019).

2019’s positive results are also linked to the new customers acquired by each branch, including that of Bern which opened in November 2018. Similarly, dbi services is regularly contacted by foreign companies who wish to benefit from its experts’ know-how, which led to an offer of remote services being thought up in 2019 and launched in 2020. This offer contains products from the e-Services range which currently includes platform audits, licence reviews and training. On this subject, Yann Neuhaus, Chief Sales Officer and Chairman of the Board, adds: “Of course, we are delighted that our reputation extends beyond Swiss borders. This shows that Swiss expertise is valued around the world, and the growing demand from abroad is not only driving us to expand our e-Services offer soon but is also encouraging us to continue our ongoing work on training and certifying our experts.”
