What to expect

As a DevOps expert and in collaboration with your colleagues, you support, upgrade, and deploy Red Hat OpenShift Container Platforms. You are also responsible for various tasks surrounding application deployment, automation, CI/CD, GitOps, and DevSecOps.
Interactions and cooperation between development teams and IT operations professionals are essential. This role thus requires technical and communication skills and the capability to work in a team.

You are provided ongoing training while you gain experience with our customers to help you reach the cutting edge of your field, including:

  • The main Linux distributions
  • Networking and storage solutions
  • Containerization, Kubernetes (specifically OpenShift)
  • Helm or similar package managers
  • Ansible and automation/configuration practices
  • IaC, Git, and GitOps principles
  • CI/CD – e.g. Gitlab CI, ArgoCD
  • Monitoring & observability – e.g. Prometheus Stack

What you bring with you

If you hold a HES (Swiss specialized college degree), EPF (Swiss federal polytechnic degree) or equivalent diploma, here’s why you would be the perfect match for us:

  • You have a good understanding of the Cloud Native technologies and CNCF landscape.
  • You have proven experience (at least 3 years) in deploying, managing and supporting container platforms, specifically Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform.
  • You have performed advanced investigations to troubleshoot and resolve incident on the low-level Kubernetes components such as CNI, CSI, CRI.
  • You are used to working as part of a team and know the usual and agile project management methods.
  • You are a native German speaker and fluent in English (proficiency in French is a plus).

As a DevOps consultant, you will devote most of your time to consulting tasks and will do service desk work one day per week. Like all our consultants, you will receive approx. 20 days/year of continuing training and internal projects. You will also have the opportunity to provide training to our customers and attend technical conferences. Reporting to the “DevOps” team of 6 people, you will be under the supervision of its Delivery Manager. If necessary, the Technology Leader and your colleagues are there to support you. In this role, cooperation is essential, as is exchanging ideas, asking for help and helping your team colleagues by sharing your knowledge. #BeSharing is our core value, because unity is strength.

These are the essential skills for this position:

  • You demonstrate good social skills
  • You want to attend training courses and achieve certifications
  • You have at least 3 years of confirmed experience in the design, implementation, maintenance and optimization of Kubernetes and Cloud Native platforms (specifically Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform).
  • You know how to perform advanced investigations and resolve incidents on the low level Kubernetes components such as CNI, CSI, CRI.
  • You are a native German speaker.
  • You understand and can express yourself both orally and in writing in English (B2 level at least), proficiency in French is a plus.
