Sharegate features a powerful reporting engine, allowing you to keep an eye on the migration process step by step as it happens.<br \/>\nYou can download the lite version here for free: <a href=\"http:\/\/en.share-gate.com\/download\">Lite Version<\/a><br \/>\nThe other version are <a href=\"http:\/\/en.share-gate.com\/compare-sharepoint-migration-tools-features\">priced<\/a> $1000-$5000 (US dollars) depending on the number of users.<br \/>\n The full version costs close to double.<\/p>\n<h4>AvePoint DocAve\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/AvePoint-Docave-Logo.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2665\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/AvePoint-Docave-Logo.png\" alt=\"AvePoint-Docave-Logo\" width=\"151\" height=\"56\" \/><\/a><\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.avepoint.com\/products\/sharepoint-infrastructure-management\/management\/\">DocAve<\/a>\u00a0supports: EMC Documentum, eRoom Documentum, Oracle LiveLink, and Lotus Notes.<br \/>\n It can also be used to migrate file-shares, and between SharePoint versions (including Office 365).<br \/>\nDocAve has a bulk metadata tool, migrated content can be reviewed and organised, it is usefull to have a look back to the migratin as verification.<br \/>\nA 30-day trial version is available, with full pricing information available\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.avepoint.com\/about\/\">on request<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Another way to migrate is to use the manual method. This approach requires IT skills developed enough to carry it out.<\/strong><br \/>\nThis method involves moving the content from the old system to the new one, manually.<br \/>\n It means:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>copying text over<\/li>\n<li>downloading and re-uploading documents<\/li>\n<li>manually configuring SharePoint page layouts<\/li>\n<li>manually configuring web parts to match an old system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Then, more you will have added customisation on the old system, more you will meet the risk to get issues during the migration (code, etc&#8230;).<br \/>\n Again, using the Microsoft Best Practices is always the best way to go.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong><em>&#8220;The journey of a thousand steps begins with the first.&#8221;\u00a0 Hummmm&#8230; it&#8217;s the same for migration.<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><em>The most important in a migratin is knowing and understanding WHY we need to migrate ; then, be sure having the right components to drive the migration the best way as possible. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Migration projects are generally complicated.
