{"id":3935,"date":"2014-09-22T01:57:00","date_gmt":"2014-09-21T23:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/documentum-upgrade-project-d2-client-facets-and-xplore\/"},"modified":"2014-09-22T01:57:00","modified_gmt":"2014-09-21T23:57:00","slug":"documentum-upgrade-project-d2-client-facets-and-xplore","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/documentum-upgrade-project-d2-client-facets-and-xplore\/","title":{"rendered":"Documentum upgrade project: D2-Client, facets and xPlore"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To enhance the search capability we had to configure xPlore to use the new customer attributes as facets and configure D2 to use the default and new facets.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Configuring xPlore to use facets with the customer attributes<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Stop the Index Agent and Server<\/li>\n<li>Update indexserverconfig.xml by adding the following line (e. g.):<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/xml-code.png\" alt=\"xml-code\" width=\"782\" height=\"126\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keep only the indexserverconfig.xml file in $DSSEARCH_HOME\/config<\/li>\n<li>Remove $DSSEARCH_HOME\/data\/*<\/li>\n<li>Start index and agent server<\/li>\n<li>Start a full reindexing<\/li>\n<li>Once all is indexed, set index to normal mode<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Necessary tests<\/h3>\n<p>You should do two tests before configuring the D2-Client.<\/p>\n<h4>1. On the content server:<\/h4>\n<p><code>java com.emc.d2.api.config.search.D2FacetTest -docbase_name test67 -user_name\u00a0admin -password xxxx -full_text -facet_names dbi_events<\/code><\/p>\n<h4>2. On the xPlore server:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Check if the new lines have been validated by executing $DSEARCH_HOME\/dsearch\/xhive\/admin\/XHAdmin<\/li>\n<li>Navigate to xhivedb\/root-library\/dsearch\/data\/default<\/li>\n<li>Under the Indexes Tab, click the &#8220;Add Subpaths&#8221; button to open the &#8220;Add sub-paths to index&#8221; window where you can see in the Path column the added customer attributes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Configure\u00a0the search in D2-Config<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Launch D2-Config<\/li>\n<li>Select Interface\u00a0and then the\u00a0Search sub-menu<\/li>\n<li>Tick \u00a0&#8220;Enable Facets&#8221; and enter a value for &#8220;Maximun of result\u00a0by Facet&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/D2-Config.jpg\" alt=\"D2-Config\" width=\"592\" height=\"124\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once this is done, you are able to use the facets with the D2-Client.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To enhance the search capability we had to configure xPlore to use the new customer attributes as facets and configure D2 to use the default and new facets.
