More information about it <a href=\"https:\/\/babelfishpg.org\/\">here<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can find more explanations on the dedicated website: <a start\u2019s!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-installation\"><strong>The Installation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To install WiltonDB, I download the msi file for Windows <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/wiltondb\/wiltondb\/wiki\/Getting-Started\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I do the installation on a Windows Server 2022, I&#8217;m still a Microsoft guy but it\u2019s possible to do it on Linux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I run the msi file and follow the only 2 steps for the installation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Accept the License terms as usual<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"494\" height=\"385\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Choose the installation folder and I take the default C:\\Program Files\\WiltonDB Software\\witondb3.3<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure later, the installation is finish and you can run the WiltonDB Configuration Tool directly from the installer<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-configuration\"><strong>The Configuration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The WiltonDB Configuration tool has a lot of Settings that we can configure as you can see in also to have only a part of the settings with a already group of settings like Memory only or Networking only<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img select the Network Only and it&#8217;s more easy to read the settings and change it if needed<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" the <strong>babelfishpg_tds.port<\/strong> is set to <strong>1433<\/strong>, a known-port in the SQL Server world\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you change something, push the button reload settings to apply your changes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Tips<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>if you search in the windows menu, you will not find the WiltonDB Configuration tool. Localhost or the computer name does not work\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"933\" see, the SQL Server version see by SSMS is 12.0.2000.8<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s go with the first <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/sql\/t-sql\/functions\/configuration-functions-transact-sql?view=sql-server-ver16\">configuration scalar function<\/a> well known in the SQL Server World: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>SELECT @@VERSION<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" run a select of 3 configuration scalar function: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>SELECT @@VERSION, @@SERVERNAME, @@LANGUAGE <\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>and run it on the wiltonDB and to compare to SQL Server, I have installed a named instance inst01<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" function<\/a> for database object on both instance<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I don&#8217;t try all but just these two on 2 system databases (master and msdb):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre The model is missing\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the configuration, we have only 7 parameters and as login only the &#8220;SQL Login&#8221; wilton<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-conclusion\">Conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I was very curious about it and begin the first steps (installation, configurations &amp; first queries)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I need to say that WiltonDB is easy to install and very fast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The default configuration is a good start &nbsp;but need to be more studying to optimize the settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m very interested to continue to test and see the possibilities of WiltonDB\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>See you soon for the next steps of my tests like the security, database creation, restore an existing database,\u2026.!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I know,&nbsp;
