So let&#8217;s have a look to what the program was&#8230;<\/p>\n<h3>Keynote: The Cloud OS<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/intro.png\" alt=\"intro\" width=\"312\" height=\"233\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This keynote was an overview of 2 themes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Modern Datacenter with Windows Server 2012 &amp; System Center 2012<\/li>\n<li>Modern apps with Visual Studio 2012<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This introduction included great demos such as Windows Server 2012 with a performance measure, based on 1000000+ I\/O per second and the power of Extensible Switch.<br \/>\nI have retained one good sentence: \u201cData is King, Knowledge is King\u201d and I\u2019m complete agree with this!:roll:<br \/>\nThen after this starter, I focused my TechEd day between 2 principle technologies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SQL Server 2012<\/li>\n<li>Windows Server 2012<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>SQL Server 2012<\/h3>\n<p>The first session I attended to was about an overview of SQL 2012.<\/p>\n<p>In regards of the hands-on I already made on SQL Server 2012 and the information I already grab about it, I didn&#8217;t lean that much new about the product itself. Here just a summary of the most important enhancements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SQL Audit for all editions<\/li>\n<li>User-Defined Audit<\/li>\n<li>Audit Filtering<\/li>\n<li>Audit Resilience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Windows Server 2012 overview<\/h3>\n<p>Now, let&#8217;s get an eye on Windows Server 2012 and in particular Hyper-V 2012. What&#8217;s news in this version, why and how can I advise my customers to install it?<\/p>\n<p>That was the questions I had when I went to the session on Windows Server 2012 overview\u2026<br \/>\nHere the answers, 3 reasons for the &#8220;Why&#8221;:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Comprehensive Cloud Platform<\/li>\n<li>Cost saving and increased efficiencies (reduce storage cost, multi-server management)<\/li>\n<li>Support for a modern work style (VDI)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Management and automation<\/h4>\n<p>It\u2019s a metro style for the server manager and a good dashboard to manage all servers. But be careful when you choose the move option with the three possibilities and then perform the move. It\u2019s done in a few minutes and seems magic!<\/p>\n<p>If the cable is cut or a crash from the destination, what\u2019s happen? No problem, the VM is online on the source and the destination is available only when the full transfer is done and that the VM on destination is started.<\/p>\n<h3>It&#8217;s the end of the day<\/h3>\n<p>So finally we arrived on the end of my first day with already pretty much new information, new features &amp; demos.<br \/>\nHope that I wont get a &#8220;buffer overflow&#8221; during the next days&#8230; \ud83d\ude44<br \/>\nNo!
