running same script on 30 agents ,each one defined on its dedicated server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also depending on the server list ,we had to start jobs with specific users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So is there a way avoid to create 30 individual jobs?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maybe we can find an optimal solution and guess it is by using Control-M hostgroup feature!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Name your host groups and add the Control-M agents inside <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go on CCM and create your first hostgroup:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Repeat the task for each of the hostgroups ( example <strong>HOSTGROUP1 <\/strong>I have added <strong>SERVER4<\/strong>,<strong>SERVER7 <\/strong>and removed SERVER1 ),<strong>HOSTGROUP2<\/strong>,<strong>HOSTGROUP3 <\/strong>and so on.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Define your jobs using dedicated host groups <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>So for our example we have 4 jobs, each one referring to a specific Hostgroup in that way:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Important note:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Don&#8217;t forget to tick the box &#8220;<strong>Run job on all Hosts in the group<\/strong>&#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This will have for effect to execute the command on all of the hostname in the hostgroup instead of sending command to the first server available<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>When your job is ordered you will see that a job is ordered for each of the agent defined in the hostgroup ( here we have two jobs: one for <strong>SERVER4 <\/strong>and one for <strong>SERVER7 <\/strong>with same name <strong>but different order ID<\/strong> ) <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" can repeat this action for each of the hostgroup created and update the job definition with the specific user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In example <strong>HOSTGROUP2 <\/strong>will run the job created for <strong>SERVER3\/5\/6<\/strong> with user <strong>USR2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will have as a result as many jobs as you have defined agent in the hostgroup \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We can see that you can create a simple job to run it on multiple hosts ,that will ease your life if you need to manage this specific use case .
