{"id":16912,"date":"2021-12-01T17:06:18","date_gmt":"2021-12-01T16:06:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/control-m-em-export-option-of-control-m-web-is-not-working-on-ms-edge-and-chrome\/"},"modified":"2021-12-01T17:06:18","modified_gmt":"2021-12-01T16:06:18","slug":"control-m-em-export-option-of-control-m-web-is-not-working-on-ms-edge-and-chrome","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/control-m-em-export-option-of-control-m-web-is-not-working-on-ms-edge-and-chrome\/","title":{"rendered":"Control-M EM &#8220;export&#8221; option of Control-M Web is not working on  MS EDGE and Chrome"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello everybody,<\/p>\n<p>I recently faced issues when using some control-m features on EDGE and Chrome.Indeed I was not able to get my folder exported in XML format, something was blocking.<\/p>\n<h3>Issue description<\/h3>\n<p>When clicking on the export button nothing happens, usually we have a pop-up with file to download or download starting.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/EDGE-0.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-52716\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/EDGE-0.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1193\" height=\"366\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nSo I tried to figure out by sneaking around browser option and I found an explicit message.<br \/>\nI opened developers tool and checked in the console tab if messages are displaying.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/EDG1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-52714\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/EDG1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1195\" height=\"506\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nWe can see that download is not allowed on the browser , the message redirect us to a page explaining that.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/EDGE-DL.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-52712\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/EDGE-DL.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"68\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n&#8220;Download is disallowed. The frame initiating or instantiating the download is sandboxed, but the flag \u2018allow-downloads\u2019 is not set. See <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chromestatus.com\/feature\/5706745674465280\">https:\/\/www.chromestatus.com\/feature\/5706745674465280<\/a> for more details.&#8221;<br \/>\nWhen opening the chrome link we have this info:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/EDGEChromemessage.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-52774\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/EDGEChromemessage.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1851\" height=\"402\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Solution<\/h3>\n<p>We have to add a parameter in a configuration file to allow export download , but where?I have activated option such as allow pop-up in browser parameters but still not working.<br \/>\nI have decided to ask BMC SOFTWARE for some support and hopefully there was a similar issue in their knowledge database \ud83d\ude42 (thanks to them for showing me that I was on the good way :))<br \/>\nSo the file to update was not on web browser&#8217;s option but on Control-M file configuration<\/p>\n<p>Here are the actions to do:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>backup <strong>web.xml<\/strong> file located under \/..\/ctm_em\/etc\/emweb\/tomcat\/conf<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<pre class=\"brush: actionscript3; gutter: true; first-line: 1\">SERVER% pwd\n\/pkgs\/controlm\/enterprise\/ctm_em\/etc\/emweb\/tomcat\/conf\nlbnds1208% ls -lart web.xml\n-rwxr-xr-x. 1 emsrv controlm 160753 Nov 29 17:53 web.xml\nSERVER%cp -p web.xml web.xml.old<\/pre>\n<ul>\n<li>update file using the editor of your choice with option &#8220;<strong>allow-downloads<\/strong>&#8221; in security web part<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/blogwonloadWEBSERVER-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-52737\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/blogwonloadWEBSERVER-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1207\" height=\"515\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/EDGCHECK2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-52735\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/EDGCHECK2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1207\" height=\"334\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>recycle Control-M web server-connect to web client<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/EDGRECYCLE2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-52752\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/EDGRECYCLE2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"594\" height=\"495\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>load a folder and try an export<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/EDGE5.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-52743\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/EDGE5.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1146\" height=\"405\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>and that&#8217;s it you got your xml file!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/EDG6-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-52756\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/EDG6-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1170\" height=\"507\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Conclusion<\/h3>\n<p>You know now how to enable download and export your file using Control-M web, don&#8217;t hesitate to visit BMC&#8217;s site and their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmc.com\/support\/support-central.html#\/dashboard\">support center<\/a> to get precious info on Control-M and visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/bloggers\/\">dbi bloggers<\/a> \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello everybody, I recently faced issues when using some control-m features on EDGE and Chrome.Indeed I was not able to get my folder exported in XML format, something was blocking.
