file<\/h3>\n<p>Go on manage Jenkins and select prepare for shutdown to let Jenkins perform a clean stop of every task ( stop every new build)<br \/>\n<a \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Replace old Jenkins.war file by the new version<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Windows<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>generally it&#8217;s stored under Jenkins home path<br \/>\n<em>C:\\Program Files\\Jenkins<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Linux\/Unix<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>this is located under this directory by default<br \/>\n<em>\/usr\/share\/jenkins<\/em><\/p>\n<p>For this example I was using a Windows machine I tried by reflex to backup previous version file by renaming it<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/JNKUPG5WARPATHrenameused.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-49235\" already using it,we have to stop Jenkins before<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/JNKUPG6renameused.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\"
