In this Blog I will go more in the deep like repository management and PXE boot configuration.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"md-end-block md-heading\"><span class=\"md-plain\">Configuring repository<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain md-expand\">To syncronize products from SUSE repository, you need configure first the Organization Credentials. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\">To get your username and password for repository you need to go: <\/span><span class=\"md-link md-pair-s\"><a href=\"https:\/\/scc.suse.com\/\">https:\/\/scc.suse.com\/<\/a><\/span> <span class=\"md-plain\">Login with your SUSE Account<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/SUMA-2-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-47525\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/SUMA-2-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1135\" height=\"217\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\">Admin -&gt; Setup Wizard -&gt; Organization Credentials -&gt; Add a new credential<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/SUMA-2-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-47524 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/SUMA-2-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"938\" height=\"615\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p md-focus\"><span class=\"md-plain\">After you successfully added the Organization Credentials, you need to refresh it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/SUMA-2-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-47526\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/SUMA-2-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1025\" height=\"381\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"md-end-block md-heading md-focus\"><span class=\"md-plain md-expand\">PXE Boot<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\">Preboot Execution Environment can make your system installation and deployment easier. You can prepare multiple profiles\/systems and boot your client directly from the image to install it.<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"md-plain\">Before we start with profiles, we need configure our DHCP Server to enable PXE boot.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"md-end-block md-heading\"><span class=\"md-plain\">if your DHCP Server runs on Linux:<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\">You need open \/etc\/dhcp\/dchpd.conf and add next-server and filename to your subnet.<\/span><\/p>\n<pre class=\"brush: bash; gutter: true; first-line: 1\">[root@localhost dhcp]# vi dhcpd.conf\n\n#\n# DHCP Server Configuration file.\n#   see \/usr\/share\/doc\/dhcp-server\/dhcpd.conf.example\n#   see dhcpd.conf(5) man page\n#\n\ndefault-lease-time 600;\nmax-lease-time 7200;\nddns-update-style none;\nauthoritative;\nallow booting;\nallow bootp;\n\nsubnet 192.168.50.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 {\n range 192.168.50.50 192.168.50.200;\n option routers 192.168.50.1;\n option subnet-mask 255.255.255.0;\n option domain-name-servers 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4;\n next-server 192.168.50.149;\n filename \"pxelinux.0\";\n}\n\n<\/pre>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\">save the file and restart your dhcp server:<\/span><\/p>\n<pre class=\"brush: bash; gutter: true; first-line: 1\">systemctl restart dhcpd<\/pre>\n<h3 class=\"md-end-block md-heading\"><span class=\"md-plain\">if your DHCP Server runs on Windows Server:<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p md-focus\"><span class=\"md-plain\">Open DHCP configuration -&gt; IPv4 -&gt; Scope -&gt; Server Options<\/span> <span class=\"md-plain\">You need to add new options 066 and 067<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\">066: FQDN or IP for your SUMA Server<\/span> <span class=\"md-plain\">067: pxelinux.0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"md-end-block md-heading\"><span class=\"md-plain\">Boot from PXE<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\">After you configured your DHCP Server, you can boot your client from LAN. You should see following screen:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/SUMA-2-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-47527\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/SUMA-2-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"869\" height=\"675\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\">As we did not configured any system images, the list is empty.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"md-end-block md-heading md-focus\"><span class=\"md-plain md-expand\">Copying ISO files to Server<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\">To be able to make installation over network, you need to download iso files and put it on SUMA Server. Go to <\/span><span class=\"md-link md-pair-s\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.suse.com\/download\/sles\/\">https:\/\/www.suse.com\/download\/sles\/<\/a><\/span><span class=\"md-plain\"> and download the iso file.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\">Create needed folders:<\/span><\/p>\n<pre class=\"brush: bash; gutter: true; first-line: 1\">mkdir -p \/srv\/www\/htdocs\/pub\/isos\nmkdir -p \/srv\/www\/htdocs\/pub\/distros\/SLES-15-SP2-DVD-x86_64\n<\/pre>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\">Copy the files to SUMA Server: \/srv\/www\/htdocs\/pub\/isos and mount it<\/span><\/p>\n<pre class=\"brush: bash; gutter: true; first-line: 1\">scp sles15-sp2-x86_64.iso root@192.168.50.3:\/srv\/www\/htdocs\/pub\/isos\nmount -o loop \/srv\/www\/htdocs\/pub\/isos\/sles15-sp2-x86_64.iso \/srv\/www\/htdocs\/pub\/distros\/SLES-15-SP2-DVD-x86_64\n<\/pre>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\">After you copied all your isos and mounted, you need to define tree path in SUSE Manager. Open your SUMA Server -&gt; Systems -&gt; Autoinstallation -&gt; Distributions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\">Make sure that you synced down your products which you want to deploy!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/SUMA-2-6.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-47529\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/SUMA-2-6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"887\" height=\"319\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\">If you configured correctly, you will see on the right side a green checkmark.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"md-end-block md-heading md-focus\"><span class=\"md-plain md-expand\">Create your AutoYast file<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\">The AutoYaST profile in this section installs a SUSE Linux Enterprise Server system with all default installation options including a default network configuration using DHCP. After the installation is finished, a bootstrap script located on the SUSE Manager server is executed in order to register the freshly installed system with SUSE Manager. You need to adjust the IP address of the SUSE Manager server, the name of the bootstrap script, and the root password according to your environment:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\">All possible Attributes you can find under: <\/span><span class=\"md-link md-pair-s\"><a href=\"https:\/\/doc.opensuse.org\/projects\/autoyast\/\">https:\/\/doc.opensuse.org\/projects\/autoyast\/<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\">Basic AutoYast file:<\/span><\/p>\n<pre class=\"brush: bash; gutter: true; first-line: 1\"><!--?xml version=\"1.0\"?-->\n&lt;?xml version=\"1.0\"?&gt;\n&lt;!DOCTYPE profile&gt;\n&lt;profile \nxmlns_config=\"http:\/\/www.suse.com\/1.0\/configns\"&gt;\n&lt;general&gt;\n&lt;mode&gt;\n&lt;confirm config_type=\"boolean\"&gt;false&lt;\/confirm&gt;\n&lt;\/mode&gt;\n&lt;\/general&gt;\n&lt;networking&gt;\n&lt;keep_install_network config_type=\"boolean\"&gt;true&lt;\/keep_install_network&gt;\n&lt;\/networking&gt;\n&lt;software&gt;\n&lt;install_recommended config_type=\"boolean\"&gt;true&lt;\/install_recommended&gt;\n&lt;patterns config_type=\"list\"&gt;\n&lt;pattern&gt;base&lt;\/pattern&gt;\n&lt;\/patterns&gt;\n&lt;\/software&gt;\n&lt;users config_type=\"list\"&gt;\n&lt;user&gt;\n&lt;encrypted config_type=\"boolean\"&gt;false&lt;\/encrypted&gt;\n&lt;fullname&gt;root&lt;\/fullname&gt;\n&lt;gid&gt;0&lt;\/gid&gt;\n&lt;home&gt;\/root&lt;\/home&gt;\n&lt;password_settings&gt;\n&lt;expire&gt;&lt;\/expire&gt;\n&lt;flag&gt;&lt;\/flag&gt;\n&lt;inact&gt;&lt;\/inact&gt;\n&lt;max&gt;&lt;\/max&gt;\n&lt;min&gt;&lt;\/min&gt;\n&lt;warn&gt;&lt;\/warn&gt;\n&lt;\/password_settings&gt;\n&lt;shell&gt;\/bin\/bash&lt;\/shell&gt;\n&lt;uid&gt;0&lt;\/uid&gt;\n&lt;username&gt;root&lt;\/username&gt;\n&lt;user_password&gt;linux&lt;\/user_password&gt;\n&lt;\/user&gt;\n&lt;\/users&gt;\n&lt;scripts&gt;\n&lt;init-scripts config_type=\"list\"&gt;\n&lt;script&gt;\n&lt;interpreter&gt;shell&lt;\/interpreter&gt;\n&lt;location&gt;http:\/\/192.168.1.1\/pub\/bootstrap\/my_bootstrap.sh&lt;\/location&gt;\n&lt;\/script&gt;\n&lt;\/init-scripts&gt;\n&lt;\/scripts&gt;\n&lt;\/profile&gt;\n\n<\/pre>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\">After you prepared and modifed your AutoYast file, you need to upload it to SUMA Server.<\/span> <span class=\"md-plain\">Systems -&gt; Autoinstallation -&gt; Profiles -&gt; Upload Kickstart\/Autoyast File and past the content fo file contents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/SUMA-2-8.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-47531\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/SUMA-2-8.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"731\" height=\"372\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/SUMA-2-7.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-47530\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/SUMA-2-7.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"783\" height=\"152\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\">Now let&#8217;s boot client again from the PXE:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/SUMA-2-11.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-47534\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/SUMA-2-11.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"624\" height=\"465\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/SUMA-2-12.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-47535\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/SUMA-2-12.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"621\" height=\"475\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"md-end-block md-heading\"><span class=\"md-plain\">Conclusion<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p md-focus\"><span class=\"md-plain md-expand\">SUSE Manager can for beginners little bit complicated.
