{"id":14159,"date":"2020-06-11T13:13:38","date_gmt":"2020-06-11T11:13:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/control-m-em-cyclic-job-interval-less-than-1-min\/"},"modified":"2020-06-11T13:13:38","modified_gmt":"2020-06-11T11:13:38","slug":"control-m-em-cyclic-job-interval-less-than-1-min","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/control-m-em-cyclic-job-interval-less-than-1-min\/","title":{"rendered":"Control-M\/EM Cyclic job interval less than 1 min"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Introduction<\/h2>\n<p>By default, the minimal execution\u2019s interval of a cyclic job is 1 minute (with the rerun every 0 sec option it will loop instantaneously).<\/p>\n<p>But what happens when you need to rerun it in a interval between 0 and 1 minute?<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s use a little trick to achieve that<\/p>\n<h2>Job configuration<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>In planning pane create a job<\/li>\n<li>When selecting this job, go in \u201c<em>scheduling<\/em>\u201d tab part and tick the \u201c<em>cyclic<\/em>\u201d box<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/BLOGCY1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-39760\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/BLOGCY1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"784\" height=\"666\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><u>Result<\/u>:<\/p>\n<p>As soon as you define your job as cyclic it will take the default configured value and rerun every (<strong>1<\/strong>) minutes from job\u2019s start<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We will update this part by switching to <strong>0<\/strong> minute(s) from Job\u2019s start (be careful about using cyclic job to 0 )<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/BLOGCY2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-39761\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/BLOGCY2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"781\" height=\"656\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We also will keep the maximum rerun at 0 for our test<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/BLOGCY3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-39762\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/BLOGCY3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"930\" height=\"124\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Using <strong>sleep<\/strong> command and Control-M\/Agent <strong>_sleep<\/strong> utility<\/h2>\n<p>Depending of the OS where agent is <strong>installed<\/strong>, you can <strong>use<\/strong> these two commands:<\/p>\n<h3>For Windows OS<\/h3>\n<p>You have to use the Control-M\/Agent <strong>_sleep utility<\/strong> \u00a0(time in sec)<\/p>\n<p>Definition from Control-M Help ( available on your Control-M workload automation client opening file\/help\/view help\u00a0 )<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/BLOGCY55.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-39771\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/BLOGCY55.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"918\" height=\"367\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/BLOGCY5.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-39758\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/BLOGCY5.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"961\" height=\"330\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>For Unix\/Linux OS<\/h3>\n<p>the sleep command with time needed in second<\/p>\n<pre class=\"brush: bash; gutter: true; first-line: 1\">[ctmag900@CTMSRVCENTOS ~]$ sleep 30\n\n[ctmag900@CTMSRVCENTOS ~]$\u00a8<\/pre>\n<p>As we are on a Linux machine, we will use the <strong>sleep<\/strong> built-in shell function from UNIX.<\/p>\n<h3>We will add it to &#8220;post-execution&#8221;
