As they run multiple PostgreSQL cluster on one server, they wanted, for sure, to monitor all the cluster using PEM. This blog should give you a short guidance on how to add databases to PEM.<br \/>\n<!--more--> <\/p>\n<h3>Starting position<\/h3>\n<p>&#8211; PEM Server installed, up and running<br \/>\n&#8211; PEM Agent installed on the hosts, that should be monitored<br \/>\n&#8211; Hosts already registered in the PEM<br \/>\n&#8211; pg_hba.conf of all databases prepared to accept connections from PEM<\/p>\n<pre class=\"brush: sql; gutter: true; first-line: 1;\">\nhost    postgres        enterprisedb    192.168.22.53\/32           trust\n<\/pre>\n<h3>First impression<\/h3>\n<p>As you can see, the hosts, where the agent is installed and registered with PEM are visible in PEM, but the cluster are not automatically detected.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/blog_pem.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/blog_pem.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"317\" height=\"273\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-36467\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Add a cluster<\/h3>\n<p>Let&#8217;s add a PostgeSQL cluster. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/pem2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dbi-services.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/pem2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"607\" height=\"381\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-36468\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nFirst of all make sure to choose a self-documenting name. This name (per default) is not unique. So you can add many servers with the same name.
