dbi services Blog
Welcome to the dbi services Blog! This blog focuses on database infrastructure and middleware topics. It covers technologies such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Sybase, Linux, or Documentum (etc.). The dbi services blog represents the view of our consultants, not necessarily that of dbi services. Feel free to comment on the postings!
With the appearance of WebLogic Server as Oracle application server and the emergence of the Oracle Fusion Middleware suite, some may wonder what will be the support of their Oracle Internet Application server license, e. g. Oracle Forms and Reports services, Business Intelligence Edition, etc. As a consultant, I am often dealing with these kinds of problems and aiming to improve license benefits. In this post, I want to focus on Oracle Internet Application server licenses.

Oracle space management & recycle bin
This post describes some basic Oracle database management issues database administrators might be confronted with. It is about space management and differences observed while monitoring the available space from several point of views (tablespace/datafile) in Grid Control 11g. It also relates and explains an issue (ORA-01652) observed on pre 11.2 Oracle releases (targets) concerning the tablespace/datafile space management and the recycle bin.
Configure firefox 3.6.12 with Ubuntu for Grid Control and My Oracle Support usage!
Are you fed up with supporthtml.oracle.com because the flash plugin is crashing or not working in your browser? You need to use the latest Java plugin in you firefox browser, for instance for a Java based VPN connection.
